CPSI’s Application Portal provides remote access to CPSI applications that is secure, easy to deploy, and operates exactly like PCs directly connected to the hospital’s Local Area Network.  The Application Portal brings simplicity to deploying and managing remote user PCs.  Access to the application software is provided utilizing Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and the Internet.  No other client software is required.  The Portal functions in a thin-client manner using a Citrix MetaFrame platform.  The user’s information and the data accessed by the user are secured with HIPAA compliant 128 bit cipher strength Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. 

Remote access using the Application Portal results in absolutely no discernible difference to the user in software functionality.  With all the necessary client software residing and processing on the Application Portal server, use of the portal allows the rapid deployment of remote PC workstations and reduces on-going maintenance requirements.  Software updates for all Application Portal users are performed simultaneously by publishing the updates to the portal server.
