CPSI's Automated Registration Documentation System (ARDS) allows clients to streamline their registration process by providing a solution for the production of multiple registration documents with a single keystroke.  Utilizing a multi-drawer laser printer configuration, the ARDS allows for the printing of inpatient and outpatient forms without having to change paper or dedicate separate printers.  Unlike documents produced on dot matrix impact printers with multi-part paper, documents produced from laser printers are clear and legible regardless of whether it is the first copy or the tenth.  In addition to patient face sheets, signature forms may be printed through ARDS at registration from Microsoft Word documents.

An additional benefit of the ARDS comes from the economy of resources.  Plain paper, white or colored, may be loaded into the laser printer's drawers eliminating the cost of pre-printed tractor fed forms.  One ARDS laser printer can be centrally located and shared by all registration clerks reducing the cost and noise of multiple impact printers.  The ARDS laser printer further reduces registration hardware requirements by eliminating the need for a card embosser.  Patient wristbands and bar coded account labels can be produced from a single sheet of paper in a dedicated printer drawer.
