The Medical Practice Patient Charting module expands the information available on-line to practitioners by providing for the capture of patient assessments and creation of a permanent electronic encounter record. Medical Practice Patient Charting, in conjunction with Document Scanning and the Archival Data Repository, produces a permanent electronic patient encounter record that can include virtually any information desired. Designed to automate the clerical functions associated with patient assessments, the module provides physician practices with a flexible documentation solution that charts information in real-time and reduces the amount of paper that must be stored. With Medical Practice Patient Charting, encounter information can be immediately and securely accessed on-line at the physician office or the hospital.
Patient charting is customized for each individual practice. The practice determines the questions, appropriate responses, and order of presentation through simple table maintenance. The resulting questionnaire is unique to the specific needs and services of the practice. In addition to standard responses, questions can be defined as requiring text entry and standard responses can be edited as needed. Charting is a simple process of selecting the appropriate response for each question applicable to the encounter including physical assessments, patient history, vitals, blood sugar levels, medications, allergies, progress notes, and laboratory values for tests performed at the physician?s office.
To provide added convenience, the module is designed to take advantage of wireless networking and touch screen data entry. Wireless communications allows clinicians to take a mobile charting station, laptop, or handheld device into the patient exam room to complete the assessment. Touch screen technology simplifies the data entry process making charting a quick and easy task. CPSI can provide all of the network infrastructure planning, hardware, and installation services necessary to ensure a successful implementation. |
