This system allows the pharmacist to enter and fill physician orders and, as a byproduct, performs all of the related functions of patient charging, General Ledger updating, re-supply scheduling and inventory reduction/statistics maintenance. During order entry, the module automatically checks for Drug-Drug and Food-Drug Interactions and monitors for allergy contraindications. Maintenance of an on-line patient profile allows easy access by the pharmacist and may be viewed by nursing stations, ancillary departments and physicians. Medication Administration Records are produced as an automatic byproduct of pharmacy order entry. Many features in the module can improve pharmacy workflow and productivity and help pharmacy comply with state/federal and JCAHO regulations.
